Advertising, Monetization & Consent Policy
Effective date: July 18, 2026 · Last updated: November 3, 2026
Kunbaa is operated by Vritul Pty Ltd (Australia). This policy explains how Kunbaa makes money, where ads may and may not appear on each plan, and how consent works on kunbaa.com. Most importantly, it explains how we keep private family spaces separate from advertising. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Our posture in one paragraph
Kunbaa Plus and Kunbaa Ultra have no ads, in the Kunbaa app or when you are signed in on kunbaa.com. The Free plan shows no ads today. If we add ads to the Free plan, they will not be personalised (Section 5).
By ads we mean advertising for other companies' products or services. Kunbaa's own messages, such as a note about a Kunbaa feature or plan, are not ads.
kunbaa.com loads no advertising network, neither Google Ads nor AdSense. Accepting optional cookies turns on analytics and lets us measure our own ads on Google (Section 3).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use private family content to target ads. Your family tree, private messages, private posts, private media, events, tasks, and the AI-written family digests Kunbaa sends you are never turned into ad inventory or used to profile you for advertising, and private family content is never used to train AI models.
1. How Kunbaa earns money
Kunbaa is funded by two paid family plans, Kunbaa Plus and Kunbaa Ultra. What a paid plan buys is keeping — longer videos in the family archive, room for the whole family's archive, and the photos and videos shared in chat kept while the family is on the plan. Both plans can be bought in the Kunbaa app or on kunbaa.com. Our goal is to make the business model clear without turning private family content into ad inventory.
The paid plan funds infrastructure, media storage, the family digests Kunbaa writes for every account free of charge, support, and product development. Public kunbaa.com pages use analytics where permitted by law and your consent choices. Public pages, seen signed out, carry no ads today. If they ever carry ads, those will not be personalised either.
2. Where ads may appear, and where they never do
Paid plans. Kunbaa Plus and Kunbaa Ultra have no ads, in the Kunbaa app or when you are signed in on kunbaa.com.
The Free plan. The Free plan shows no ads today. If we add ads to the Free plan, they will not be personalised: we will not choose them using your profile, what you do in Kunbaa, your family's content or location, or tracking across other companies' apps and websites. We will update this policy and our Terms before any ad appears on the Free plan.
Public pages. Public kunbaa.com pages, seen signed out, carry no ads today. If they ever carry ads, those will not be personalised either. We will update this policy before any ad appears there.
Ads do not belong inside private family spaces, on any plan. We do not place ads in authenticated family trees, private chats, private family posts, private media vaults, events, tasks, billing screens, or admin controls.
3. Advertising providers and monetization sources
kunbaa.com does not load the Google Ads tag or Google AdSense, and no advertising provider places ads on Kunbaa. Sponsored placements and affiliate links, if we ever publish them, are clearly labelled. They appear only on public pages, and on the Free plan only after the update described in Section 2, never in Kunbaa Plus or Kunbaa Ultra. Kunbaa's own messages, such as a note about a Kunbaa feature or plan, are not ads.
Our own ads. We advertise Kunbaa on Google, and Google Ads is the one advertising provider we work with. We measure our ads on Google by sending Google its own click identifier and the time of sign-up, as described in our Privacy Policy. This happens only if you accepted optional cookies on kunbaa.com before you signed up, and Google receives nothing else about you.
If another third-party advertising provider is ever added, we will name it here and describe what data it receives before it goes live.
4. Consent and controls
- We ask for consent before loading optional analytics technologies where consent is required by law.
- Accepting optional cookies turns on analytics, and lets us keep the click identifier from one of our Google ads so that we can measure that ad (Section 3). It does not load an advertising tag or set an advertising cookie, and kunbaa.com still sends Google's advertising consent signals (ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalisation) as denied.
- If you reject optional cookies, Kunbaa does not load optional analytics from your browser on public pages.
- You can revisit your choice at any time using the cookie settings control on the site.
- You may also use your browser's own privacy controls.
5. No personalised ads
Kunbaa does not use personalised or targeted advertising. If we add ads to the Free plan or to public kunbaa.com pages, they will not be personalised either: we will not choose them using your profile, what you do in Kunbaa, your family's content or location, or tracking across other companies' apps and websites.
The only advertising provider that receives anything is Google Ads, and only what Section 3 describes: its own click identifier and the time of sign-up, to measure our own ads, never to show you ads.
We do not use private family tree data, private chat content, private family posts, private media, family location data, or the family digests Kunbaa writes for you to personalize third-party ads.
6. We do not sell or share your personal information
We do not "sell" your personal information for money, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA).
Because we do not sell or share personal information in this way, there is no separate "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" sale to opt out of. You can still control optional advertising and analytics on public pages through the consent controls described above, and you can exercise your privacy rights as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Sensitive and child-related protections
Kunbaa is built for families. Kunbaa Plus and Kunbaa Ultra have no ads, and the Free plan shows none today. We do not use private child profile data or private family records for ad targeting, and we do not serve targeted advertising to anyone, children included.
If we become aware that a placement or partner conflicts with our family-safety standards, we may block or remove it.
8. Public content, sponsorships, and labels
If we publish sponsored articles, partner pages, or affiliate links, we will label them clearly so users can distinguish editorial content from paid placements. They appear only on public pages, and on the Free plan only after the update described in Section 2, never in Kunbaa Plus or Kunbaa Ultra.
Public Kunbaa content should be useful to families, original to Kunbaa, and clear about feature availability, privacy, pricing, and AI support. We do not publish pages only to hold ads.
9. Relationship to other policies
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If there is a conflict, the more specific policy for the activity in question will apply.
10. Contact
