Keep your WhatsApp group
Private, plainly defined
Kept in the family's own archive, with the names in the caption
A group chat shows a photo once, compresses it, then buries it. Kunbaa keeps the original in your family's private archive, with a caption (who, where, roughly when) and the date it was shared.
Photo apps and chat apps don't know she's your mother; Kunbaa's family tree writes that down.

Coordinate without the noise
Events and shared to-do lists keep birthdays, visits, festivals and reunion plans visible to the relatives who need them.
In the mobile app: opt-in location sharing with a live map for coordinating arrivals. It stays off until someone enables it, shares only with the relatives they pick, for 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours, or until they stop, can be stopped at any time, is free for the whole family, and is not an emergency or monitoring service.

Chat, calls and location sharing
Chat, voice and video calls and Family Safety live in the Kunbaa mobile app. The tree, the wall, events, member permissions and the GEDCOM and WhatsApp importers work on kunbaa.com too. How calls work · About Family Safety
Group chats are where your family talks. Kunbaa is where your family is kept.
Keep the family group. Kunbaa is not trying to replace it. It sits behind the chat and keeps what the chat loses: the photos, stories, birthdays and plans, with a real family tree for who everyone is and how they connect, and an archive with the names, the place and roughly when in each caption.
Built for the moments that matter
- A private wall where updates stay in one calm feed.
- Photos, videos and voice notes kept, with the names, the place and roughly when in the caption.
- Events and shared to-do lists for birthdays, visits, festivals and the reunion.
- In the Kunbaa mobile app: group and one-to-one chat, and private one-to-one voice and video calls (group calls of up to 6 come with Kunbaa Plus and Ultra, and anyone in the family can join one), with no phone numbers to swap.
- Also in the app: opt-in location sharing with a live family map for coordinating arrivals. It is off until someone turns it on, runs while the app is open or, if they choose, with it closed, and can be paused any time.
What "private" means here, plainly
Invite-only. No public feed. Your family’s data is never sold. Everything is shared only with the family. That is the whole promise, on every plan including the free one.
Accounts are for adults, 18 and up, on purpose. Children appear in the tree and the photos, added by the adults: adults keep it, kids are in it.
Everyone joins free; the two paid plans, Kunbaa Plus and Kunbaa Ultra, add the shared space that holds the whole archive. See the family memory side, or start with the family tree.

How is Kunbaa different from our WhatsApp group?
Kunbaa doesn't replace the group. That is where the day's chatter lives. Chat photos are compressed substantially and chat media can expire from the servers, so an old photo may fail to re-download if the sender no longer has the original. Kunbaa keeps the photos and stories with the names and dates in the caption, and everyone's birthdays on a real family tree. And it calls: voice or video, one to one or, on Kunbaa Plus and Ultra, a group of up to 6, only ever from a relative in your family space, with no phone number handed out.
What does private actually mean?
Invite-only, no public feed, your family's data is never sold, and everything is shared only with the family. Signed-in family content is never used as ad inventory.
Can my kids have accounts?
Accounts are for adults, 18 and up. Children are in the tree, the photos and the stories, added by the adults who keep the family space. Adults keep it, kids are in it.
Can we call each other in Kunbaa?
Yes. The Kunbaa mobile app includes private voice and video calls: one-to-one, free for everyone, or on Kunbaa Plus and Ultra a group of up to 6 people including you that anyone in the family can join, and only relatives in your family space can ring you, because there is no phone number to hand out.
What does it cost?
Everyone joins free. The tree, the wall and events today, and chat, voice and video calls and Family Safety in the mobile app. Kunbaa Plus at $9.99/mo or $99.99/yr (17% less, about $8.33 a month for the payer's household yearly) keeps longer videos in the family archive, room for the whole archive, and the photos and videos from the family chat; one person pays, on kunbaa.com or in the app, and their household is covered.
