The news that stays

Announcements

Some news shouldn't scroll away. Post it once, with the photos, the date and the comments, and it stays with the people it's about, findable years later.

A reunion in the works

Post the key details, then move the planning into Events & Tasks.
The problem with chats

Important news shouldn't vanish in a thread

Keep the family group, where everyone reacts. But a chat is not an archive: milestones get buried, photos scatter, and relatives who join later can't find the original.

Kunbaa keeps each announcement with its date, people and place.

  • Keep the original post with full context, no screenshots.
  • Everyone invited sees it, whoever was online that day.
  • Private announcements stay inside the family space.

Part of the family archive from day one

Each announcement joins your family's story, with the relatives it mentions and the day it landed, beside the family wall and the family archive.

Family news that shouldn't scroll away

A group chat is where the family reacts to news, and a terrible place to keep it: within a day the baby announcement is buried under forwards and good-morning messages, and within a year nobody can find it.

Announcements are for news that deserves a permanent spot: posted once, kept with its photos, date, the people it's about, and every comment and blessing, beside your family tree and archive.

What families announce

  • New arrivals: the birth post, the first photos and everyone's wishes in one place.
  • Results and milestones: graduations, first jobs, engagements, with the date attached, not guessed at later.
  • Family changes: a move, a retirement, a homecoming, so relatives who join later can catch up.

Announcements and the rest of Kunbaa

Announcements go up on the family wall with the everyday updates, beside events for the plans that follow and Moments for the long view.

Announcements are free for every member of the family. See pricing for what the paid plans add.

Frequently asked questions

More questions? Read the full FAQ or the help centre.

How are announcements different from posting in the group chat?

Chat scrolls; announcements stay. Each keeps its photos, date, people and comments, so a cousin who joins two years later can still find the day the baby arrived.

Can I attach several photos to an announcement?

Yes. Add multiple photos and they lay out as a collage, alongside the date, the people involved, comments and reactions.

Who can see our announcements?

Only your invited family. Announcements live inside the private, invite-only family space: no public feed, nobody's data sold, and private family content is not used for third-party ad targeting.

Do announcements cost anything?

No. Announcements are part of the free tier, like the tree, chat, voice and video calls and events. Everyone in the family joins free.

Start with the people you know. Invite the rest.
