The most family-focused app yet.

Kunbaa starts from the family: who is in it, who sees each post, and what the little ones watch.

Try a share radius

Ciara is posting about her daughter's first lost tooth. Narrow the radius and watch who it reaches.

Four choices, every post

Everyone in the family, Extended family, your Household, or only you. Everyone is the default; narrowing is one tap.

Share radius

Everyone in the family space

Visible to 16 family members. 3 more relatives aren't on Kunbaa yet

Try it: the Walsh sample family. Faded faces aren’t on Kunbaa yet.

See the reach first

The post box counts the relatives who will see it as you choose; on kunbaa.com it names the ones who haven't joined yet.

Drawn from your tree

Household and Extended family come from the relationships on your family tree, so the radius grows as the tree does.

How a family uses it

Three choices, decided post by post.

This is the Kunbaa app itself, on a sample family. Keep scrolling to walk through it.

  1. On the wall

    Papa's old album: Household.

Some posts are for the people at home first. Household reaches your parents, your partner and your children, and the post wears a small Household badge. Nobody else is told it exists.

  2. In the post box

    Choose before you share.

Everyone, Extended family or Household, on every post. Everyone in the family is the default, and the post box counts who a post will reach, on kunbaa.com and in the app.

  3. From the tree

    The cousins' reunion: Extended family.

Extended family reaches two generations up and two down, with partners: grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Kunbaa works it out from the family tree, so nobody keeps a list.

Share radius

On Plus and Ultra, who sees what is decided post by post

With Kunbaa Plus and Ultra, every post has a share radius with three choices; on Free, posts go to everyone in the family. Scroll to narrow one down.

  1. Everyone.

The whole family space sees it.

  2. Extended family.

Your household, and also grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

  3. Household.

    Parents, partner and children only.

After you post

Change who sees it, any time

Changed your mind? The person who posted can move a post between Only me, Household, Extended family and Everyone.

Narrowing hides it at once from everyone outside the new radius.

Pushes already shown and copies people saved can't be pulled back.

Checked on every read

Outside the radius, the post never arrives

The radius is applied on Kunbaa's servers, for the wall, the feed, the media library, comments, reactions and mentions, every time someone opens them.

The people inside see a small Household or Extended family badge on the post. Nobody outside it is told the post exists.

Choose who sees each family post

A family is not one audience. The birthday photos are for everyone; the scan results are for the people at home. Kunbaa puts that choice on every post as a share radius, Everyone, Extended family or Household, and shows you how many relatives a post will reach before you share it.

Worked out from your family tree

Nobody builds or keeps up a list. Your Household is your parents, partner and children on the family tree; Extended family reaches two generations up and two down, with partners. Add a cousin to the tree and they are inside your Extended family radius the next time anyone opens the family wall.

Checked on every read

The radius is applied on Kunbaa's servers each time someone opens the wall, the feed, the media library or a comment thread, not hidden in the app afterwards. The full rules are in the help article choosing who sees a post.

Choosing who sees a post comes with Kunbaa Plus and Ultra, and posts already set to Only me stay private. See pricing for what Kunbaa Plus adds.

Frequently asked questions

What is a share radius?

The choice on every Kunbaa post of who in the family sees it: Everyone in the family space, your Extended family, your Household, or only you. Everyone is the default; narrowing is a choice you make post by post.

Who is in my Household?

Your parents, your partner and your children, as recorded on the family tree. Siblings, grandparents and in-laws are not in it. Choose Extended family for them.

Who is in my Extended family?

Your Household plus grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings, nieces and nephews, first cousins, grandchildren, and the partners of all of them. Two generations up and two down from you. Your partner's own parents and siblings see your post when you choose Everyone.

How does Kunbaa count who will see it?

As you choose, the post box counts the relatives in that radius who have a Kunbaa account, because a post only reaches people who have joined. Relatives on the tree who have not joined yet are named on kunbaa.com, so you can invite them; in the app they are counted and shown faded.

Can someone outside the radius find the post another way?

No. The wall, the feed, the media library, comments, reactions and mentions all follow the same rule, and it is applied on our servers each time someone opens the wall. Someone outside the radius never receives the post.

Can I change the radius after posting?

Yes. The person who posted can move a post between Only me, Household, Extended family and Everyone, any time. Narrowing hides it at once from everyone outside the new radius. Pushes already shown and copies people saved can't be pulled back.

Does Share radius cost anything?

Choosing who sees a post comes with Kunbaa Plus and Ultra. Posts you already set to Only me stay private.
