Three countries, one family. Stay connected with family abroad

Kunbaa, the private app behind Kunbaa TV, keeps everyone close: each branch adds itself to one family tree, birthdays come from the tree, you plan festivals like Diwali together across time zones, and you chat and call on your phone.

  • Everyone in the family joins free
  • Invite-only
  • Nobody's data sold

Kunbaa is a private, invite-only app for families living in different countries: both sides build one shared family tree, post photos to a wall every relative sees, and plan birthdays and visits as events with reminders. Everyone joins free, nobody's data is sold, and it runs in any web browser.

How do you stay connected with family living in different countries?

Most spread-out families run on a patchwork: a WhatsApp group for each side, a video call when the time difference allows, and photos that arrive in one chat and never reach the other.

Keep the calls and the chats, and add one shared place behind them where the whole family, both sides, every country, sees the same things. If privacy is the bigger worry, read about the private family app side of it. Planning a festival across time zones? See how families plan Diwali with family abroad.

What does a family app for families in different countries need?

One tree, both sides of the family

Your side in Jaipur, their side in Leicester, the cousins in Toronto. Everyone adds the people they know, and it becomes one tree with each person's place and birthday. How the family tree works →

A wall everyone sees

The cousin in Melbourne posts the graduation photos; Nani in Jaipur sees them on the same wall, with the names, the place and roughly when in the caption. See the family wall →

Events with reminders

Birthdays come off the tree every year; weddings, visits and Diwali lunch go in as events, with to-dos and a reminder for everyone invited, whichever country they wake up in. How events work →

How do you share family photos across countries?

Post it once, to the family wall, and everyone in the family space sees it, no forwarding between the Indian side’s group and the Australian side’s. Write the names, the place and roughly when in the caption, so Nani can tell the great-grandchildren who is who.

Can grandparents overseas use it too?

Yes, they are usually the reason. Any adult gets a free account, and Kunbaa runs in the browser on a laptop or tablet, so there is nothing to install; relatives who never post can simply look. Children are in the tree and the photos, added by the adults. Accounts are for adults, 18 and up.

Can we call family overseas on Kunbaa?

Yes, voice and video calls between relatives, in the Kunbaa mobile app. They are free on every plan, only between people in your family space, with no phone numbers to swap. Call one relative, or, on Kunbaa Plus or Ultra, bring both sets of grandparents onto one screen with a group call of up to 6 people including you, which anyone in the family can join. What is the best way to stay connected with family abroad?

Keep the calls and the group chat you already have, and give the family one shared place to hold everything else. In Kunbaa that is a family tree both sides build together, a private wall where everyone sees the same photos, and events with reminders for birthdays and visits.

Does Kunbaa work in every country?

Kunbaa runs in any modern web browser at kunbaa.com, so relatives sign up and use the tree, the wall and events from wherever they live. The Kunbaa mobile app adds family chat, voice and video calls and Family Safety.

Are event times shown in each person's own time zone?

On kunbaa.com, yes: each guest sees an event's start time in their own time zone, and a family poll on dates and times shows each option in the family's home time zones. If anyone's screen shows only the host's time, add the city ("7pm Jaipur time"). Birthday reminders come straight from the tree.

Can we call relatives overseas on Kunbaa?

Yes, in the Kunbaa mobile app, voice and video calls between relatives: one-to-one free on every plan, or, on Kunbaa Plus and Ultra, a group of up to 6, where only people in your family space can call you, and no phone numbers are swapped.

Is Kunbaa available in Hindi and other languages?

The kunbaa.com home page and sign-up are available in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Punjabi, as well as English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese. Inside the family space the menus are in English for now; relatives post, comment and caption in whatever language they speak.

Is it private?

Invite-only, no public feed, nobody's data sold, and everything is shared only with your family space. Kunbaa is not end-to-end encrypted; the privacy help page explains what private does and does not mean.

What does it cost for a family in several countries?

Everyone in the family joins free, wherever they live. The tree, the wall, chat and events cost nothing. One person pays for Kunbaa Plus at $9.99/mo or $99.99/yr (17% less, about $8.33 a month for the payer's household yearly), on kunbaa.com or in the app, which keeps longer videos and room for the whole family's archive; accounts are for adults, 18 and up.

Wherever each branch lives, everyone belongs on one tree.

Everyone joins free, so start with the tree today. One person can take Kunbaa Plus later, and their household is covered by that one subscription.
