Kunbaa vs Storypark: The Centre's Stories, or the Family's?
Kunbaa is for families who want the daycare photos to end up where the family lives (beside the grandparents, on a tree that shows how everyone fits, in a private space the whole family joins free) rather than in a feed that belongs to the centre and ends when the enrolment does.
- Everyone in the family joins free
- Invite-only
- Nobody's data sold

Quick answer
Storypark for Families is the app a childcare centre gives parents: educators post learning stories and updates about your child, you add your own photos, notify family members and follow progress over time, free for families. Kunbaa is the family's own private, invite-only space: every relative joins free, the child sits on a real tree beside the grandparents, each photo keeps who, where and when in its caption, birthdays become reminders, and chat and calls live in the app. Storypark has educators; Kunbaa has the whole family, for life.

What you keep, and what you give up
Storypark is good at its job. This is the plain list of what changes if your family moves this part of its life to Kunbaa.
What you keep
- Storypark, for as long as your child is at a centre that uses it. It is the centre's channel; Kunbaa does not replace it.
- A private tree shared only with your family, which every invited relative can build.
- Photos and stories with the names written down, beside the people on the tree, including the ones you save from the centre.
- Birthdays from the tree, events with reminders, and chat and calls between relatives.
- One subscription for the payer's household, up to 20 accounts; everyone else joins free.
What you give up
- Learning stories from educators, progress over time and learning-activity videos. Kunbaa has no educator side.
- Anything that arrives on its own from the centre; on Kunbaa a relative has to post it.
- Storypark's artwork tools for children's albums.
What Kunbaa does, in detail
The child goes on the tree beside the grandparents
Everyone you invite gets their own place on the tree, their photo and their birthday. A child is added by a parent and sits on the tree with the great-grandparents above them, so the family can see how everyone fits, from both sides.
The Kunbaa family tree →
Photos that keep their names, for the whole family
Save the photo from the centre and post it to the family wall with who, where and roughly when in the caption, beside the child on the tree. On Kunbaa Plus and Ultra, choose who sees it: everyone in the family, the extended family, or just your household. Moments gathers the archive into a timeline the grandparents can scroll.
The wall and Moments →
Birthdays and gatherings
Every birthday on the tree becomes a reminder for the family. Plan the party as an event with a to-do list, keep it to the relatives it concerns, and attach the photos afterwards so the day is kept as a day.
Events and reminders →
Grandparents ring from the tree
Group and one-to-one chat, and calls that start from a relative's page on the tree: voice and video one-to-one, and group calls of up to 6 people including you on Kunbaa Plus and Ultra, which anyone in the family can join. Only relatives in your family space can ring you. Chat and calls are in the Kunbaa app.
Chat and calls in Kunbaa →Invite-only, nobody's data sold
A Kunbaa family space cannot be searched, and nobody in it is suggested to strangers. Every account is held by an adult, an admin sets per-member permissions, and on Kunbaa Plus and Ultra you decide who sees each post. Kunbaa is private by invitation, not by encryption; the help page says exactly what that means.
How private is Kunbaa? →Kunbaa vs Storypark: your questions
More questions? Read the full FAQ or what private means in Kunbaa.
Is Kunbaa an alternative to Storypark?
Not to the centre's side of it. Storypark is how educators share learning stories with parents, and Kunbaa has no educator accounts. Kunbaa is the family's own space: where those photos, and everything else the family shares, are kept beside the people they are about, on a private tree the whole family joins free, long after the enrolment ends.
Can grandparents see Storypark?
Storypark's listing says parents can notify family members about updates; how much a relative sees depends on the family's and the centre's settings. On Kunbaa every relative you invite holds their own free account, has their own place on the tree, and sees what you choose to share with them.
What happens to the photos when my child leaves the centre?
That is a question for Storypark and your centre. On Kunbaa the family's archive belongs to the family and is never deleted while the family keeps it; the photos you post stay beside the child on the tree, with the names and dates in the caption, for as long as the family space exists. Getting your data out.
Does Kunbaa track learning or development?
No. Kunbaa keeps the family (the tree, the photos and stories, birthdays and events, chat and calls) and leaves learning stories to the educators. The two sit comfortably side by side.
What does Kunbaa cost?
Everyone in the family joins Kunbaa free, and the tree has no limit on people. Kunbaa Plus is $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, paid by one person, and keeps the family's archive: longer videos, room for the whole family's photos, and chat photos kept while the family is on Plus. Storypark for Families is free for families; the centre pays for the service.
Can children have a Kunbaa account?
No. Children are added to the tree by an adult and appear in the photos; every Kunbaa account is held by an adult aged 18 or over. Adults keep it; kids are in it.
