What you keep, and what you give up
Family Tree! Logic Puzzles is good at its job. This is the plain list of what changes if your family moves this part of its life to Kunbaa.
What you keep
- The puzzle, if a puzzle is what you were after. It is a game, and this page is not asking you to give it up.
- A private tree shared only with your family, which every invited relative can build.
- Photos and stories with the names written down, beside the people on the tree.
- Birthdays from the tree, events with reminders, and chat and calls between relatives.
- One subscription for the payer's household, up to 20 accounts; everyone else joins free.
What you give up
- Levels, towns and story reveals. Kunbaa is not a game, and its rewards are slower: a tree that is still there in forty years.
- Playing alone. Kunbaa is built for the family to join in, and it is only as complete as the relatives you invite.
What Kunbaa does, in detail
A tree of the people alive today
Everyone you invite gets their own place on the tree, their photo and their birthday, and adds the relatives only they know. Both sides of the family, each relative adding their own. Relatives who have passed stay where they belong; children are added by adults without an account.
The Kunbaa family tree →
The real clues: photos that keep their names
Post the scanned photo to the family wall and the relatives who know say who is in it; the answer goes into the caption (who, where and roughly when) beside the people on the tree. Moments gathers the archive into a timeline, and on Kunbaa Plus and Ultra you choose who sees each post.
The wall and Moments →
Nani tells it in her own voice
A voice note on the wall keeps the story the way it was told (the move, the wedding, the name that skipped a generation), kept beside the people it is about, for the grandchildren who will want to hear it.
Wall photos and voice notes →Birthdays come off the tree
Every birthday on the tree becomes a reminder for the family. Plan the reunion as an event with a to-do list, keep it to the relatives it concerns, and attach the photos afterwards so the day is kept as a day.
Events and reminders →
Who can edit the tree
An admin decides, per relative, whether they can add people to the tree, post to the wall, or message members, and a relative can request more access from inside the app. Every account is held by an adult, so the tree stays in the hands of the people you invited.
How private is Kunbaa? →Kunbaa vs Family Tree! Logic Puzzles: your questions
More questions? Read the full FAQ or what private means in Kunbaa.
Is Kunbaa a game?
No. Kunbaa is a private app for your real family: a tree the relatives you invite build together, a wall for the photos and stories with the names written down, birthdays and events, and chat and calls in the app. Family Tree! – Logic Puzzles is a puzzle about invented families. They share two words and nothing else.
I searched for a family tree app and found the puzzle. Which do I want?
If you wanted to work out how your own relatives fit together, and keep the answer, you want a tree of real people, which is what Kunbaa is. Start with the people you know, invite the relatives who know the rest, and the tree fills in. Free to start, with no limit on people in the tree.
Does Kunbaa have ads?
Kunbaa Plus and Ultra have no ads. The free plan has none today, and any ads on it would not be personalised. A Kunbaa family space is invite-only and cannot be searched, nobody's data is sold, and Kunbaa's revenue comes from its paid plans. The puzzle is ad-supported, with an in-app purchase to remove them.
Is Kunbaa hard to use for older relatives?
It is built for them. A relative joins from an invitation that already links to their place on the tree, sees the family wall as a simple feed, and can look without ever posting. Anyone in the family can set up a parent or grandparent and help them in. Set up a parent or grandparent.
What does Kunbaa cost?
Everyone in the family joins Kunbaa free, and the tree has no limit on people. Kunbaa Plus is $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, paid by one person, and keeps the family's archive: longer videos, room for the whole family's photos, and chat photos kept while the family is on Plus. There are no coin packs, passes or bundles.
Can children be on a Kunbaa tree?
Yes. Children are added to the tree by an adult and appear in the photos; they do not hold an account, because every Kunbaa account is for adults aged 18 and over. Adults keep it; kids are in it.
